Yorkville Message Board

What made Yorkville special was the characters that you met everyday. My brother, Paddy Dougherty, was one of those characters and his name and picture will be added to the list below. Check out a few of the stories that are based on Paddy. Most of them are true, ask Jim Brady.

Some were on the street, some in sports, and others were on TV. Share the stories before they are lost forever. I just recently received a book titled "Inside My Father's House" written by  Msgr. George A. Kelly (from Jim Brady), who was the priest at St. Monica's on 79th Street. There are a few remarks about the parish and some of the nuns which I'll recap on another page in the near future.

If you think you know of a 'character', or, a person that rates as a 'character' from Yorkville and have a picture of this person, we'll be happy to add that character to this listing. You don't have to be notorious to be listed here. Some of our characters were quite humorous and that made them special. only have limited resources to put something on this page. Some have funny stories behind the character.
